"Although I'm a FOH engineer as opposed to a monitor bloke, I find the easiest and most accurate way to listen to the same things that my artists are, whether out of a cue bass of iPod or whatever, is to use my Ultimate Ears. This helps when doing pre-production, discussing different mixes...whatever. On another note, I also system engineer/design for several tour a year in Australia and once it's up and running and the visiting engineer is happy, my 15dB attenuators go right in and stay for the show.
